I started writing following a visit to the Wellcome Trust's 'Brains: The mind as matter' exhibition back in April 2012.  I went to the Trust's grand building on London's Euston Road to view a slice of Albert Einstein's brain and left thinking I had inadvertently stumbled across the identity of Jack the Ripper.  Over a year passed before I had the idea of investigating the background of my suspect and writing my first ever book 'Wellcome to Hell: Was Sir Henry Wellcome Jack the Ripper?'

Having spent many months researching Sir Henry's life history and the details of the Ripper murders.  I thought why not put the experience to good use and the idea for 'A Tale from Ripper Street: Inspector Edmund Reid's Hunt for Jack the Ripper' was born.  The rest, as they say, is history.
